Choose Printer

Choose Printer is a desk accessory that shipped with very early versions of the Macintosh system software beginning with System 1. It was replaced soon with the Chooser, which took its place through Mac OS 9.2.2.

Choose Printer came in the form of a single, modal dialog box. Most of the dialog box was in the form of a list of printers which were choosable (and that the Mac could use). To the right was an iconic switch to choose the port the printer was connected on (the telephone icon stood for the modem port, while the printer icon stood for the printer port. An option to switch AppleTalk to a connected or disconnected state was the last option in Choose Printer, with the OK and Cancel buttons immediately below.
