From WikiMac, Everyone's Mac Knowledgebase

Creating a new article, either from scratch or from a red link? This page is here to instruct you on how to create the new page, and offer suggestions where needed.

[edit] Creating a new article...

[edit] ...from scratch

All WikiMac pages are in the form of http://wikimac.wikicities.com/index.php/★, where the star (★) signifies where the name of the article will be in.

For example: An article on Macintosh will be at http://wikimac.wikicities.com/index.php/Macintosh

What you need to do is to enter the name of your article (bearing the notes as outlined below in mind) where the star sits.

Notes:

  1. WikiMac also has articles on a redirect link at http://mac.wikicities.com/
  2. For articles with a space in them, such as Apple Computer, the name of the article will have to contain an underscore character (_) for the space bar, i.e. http://wikimac.wikicities.com/index.php/Apple_Computer

[edit] ...from a red link

A red link indicates a page on WikiMac where no article has existed before. Clicking on the red link will enable the user to edit the page directly.

[edit] Notes on creating new articles

  • Keep our policies in mind. Spamming, personal attacks, and biased writing is discouraged at all costs.
  • Attempt to write from a neutral point of view and present multiple viewpoints where necessary.
  • Copyright is copyright. Don't copy-and-paste (or on the Mac, drag-and-drop) stuff from other websites unless they're in line with the GFDL or unless you've obtained their permission.
Note: If you request permission make sure to ask if the licencer is OK with licencing content under the GFDL. We cannot have content limited in use, i.e. we can't honour "WikiMac-only" copyright requests.[[zh:Help:如何编写新的?目]]
