Password (System Preferences)
From WikiMac, Everyone's Mac Knowledgebase
The Password panel of System Preferences existed only in Mac OS X Public Beta.
Its use is to set a password for the use of the Mac under Mac OS X.
[edit] Note
In later versions of Mac OS X (including the first official release on March 24, 2001), a message in the Login pane of System Preferences which reads "A hint can be created in the Password pane" referred to this defunct pane, which was gone after Mac OS X Public Beta. Use the Users pane instead to create a hint.
